What is a straight in poker

A straight is the 6th strongest combination of a poker hand consisting of five cards of different values, ranked without any gaps from lowest to highest. Please note that suits are not taken into consideration when forming a hand in poker.

If a player is going to make a straight combination, there’s bound to be one card that will be different suit from all the others. In such a case, you can put together another combination – a straight flush. If you hold a card from a ten to an ace, this is a royal flush, which is the strongest possible combination.

How do these hands work in poker?

Texas Hold’em offers players three ways to make a straight, and it directly depends on whether or not the cards dealt by the dealer are available, and how many cards he uses in the game.

2 from the dealer +3 total

Cards from the dealer will be added to the top or bottom 3-card draw (D, Jk 8, 9, 10), or 5 & 7 to 4+6 and 7.

One from dealer total +4

Add one card from the dealer to the other 4 cards from the row on the board or add to the row with a missing face value (D+10,J,K,A). No cards from the dealer This situation takes place if there is already a combination on the playing field. But not all types of Poker allow this option.

With Aces

A player can make two types of straight with aces: low (5,6,7,8,9,10,J,D,K,A) and high (A,K,D,J,10). If you draw a comparative parallel between equal combinations, the one with the stronger top would be the stronger one. For example, 789TB would beat 56789. In the case where the top is equal, the winnings are divided in half.
