How to determine the strength of a straight in poker

A straight is the 6th strongest combination of a poker hand consisting of five cards of different values, ranked without any gaps from lowest to highest. Please note that suits are not taken into consideration when forming a hand in poker.

If a player is going to make a straight combination, there’s bound to be one card that will be different suit from all the others. In such a case, you can put together another combination – a straight flush. If you hold a card from a ten to an ace, this is a royal flush, which is the strongest possible combination.
